Job Description

At GAC, we rely on our IT systems to provide the best solutions that help our users around the world. We are seeking a Scrum Master to join us on this journey, using their knowledge of Agile practices to make us more efficient.

The job role is part of the Project Management Office. The primary goal of the role is to ensure that GAC software development teams adhere to Scrum principles and practices, and that they are productive and delivering value.

The Scrum Master also acts as a liaison between the team and stakeholders and helps to remove any obstacles that may be impeding the team's progress.

Objectives of this Role

• Facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
• Acting as a coach to the team and stakeholders, helping them understand and embrace Scrum
• Ensuring the team follows Scrum principles and practices
• Helping the team identify and remove obstacles that may be impeding their progress
• Facilitating communication and collaboration between the team and stakeholders
• Protecting the team from external interruptions and distractions

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Scrum principles and practices: A Scrum Master should have a deep understanding of the Agile methodology and the Scrum framework, and be able to apply this knowledge to real-world situations.
• Facilitation skills: A Scrum Master should be able to facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, and help the team make decisions and resolve conflicts.
• Coaching skills: A Scrum Master should be able to coach the team and stakeholders on Scrum principles and practices, and help them understand and embrace Agile methodologies.
• Problem-solving skills: A Scrum Master should be able to identify and remove obstacles that may be impeding the team's progress.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills: A Scrum Master should be able to communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders at all levels of the organsation.
• Experience as a Scrum Master or similar role: A Scrum Master should have experience working in an Agile environment, preferably as a Scrum Master or similar role.
• Certifications: Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
• · Technical background: A Scrum Master should have knowledge of software development or other technical fields, as they will be working closely with technical teams.
