GAC UK employs a team of over 350 specialists spread across 25+ branches throughout the UK, Ireland and Gibraltar. Our focus is on providing integrated shipping, logistics and marine solutions to diverse industries, from offshore oil & gas and renewable energy to every aspect of the shipping sector, from cruise liners and superyachts to tankers and dry bulk vessels. Additionally, our teams dedicated to marine leisure, sports, events, automotive, and aviation sectors offer specialised services tailored to these niche markets. We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager to be based at either our Grangemouth/Southampton or London office. (Remote will be considered)

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Enhancing the supplier database by ensuring the approval and re-approval of suppliers, maintaining accurate and relevant data, and identifying critical and strategic suppliers.
  • Collaborating with branches to negotiate agreements with suppliers that optimise discounts and align with GAC policies.
  • Proactively managing supplier expectations from pre-qualification through approval, agreement, and re-approval stages.
  • Coordinating supplier management with branches, facilitating audits, and engaging with strategic and critical suppliers.
  • Enhancing written procurement policies and procedures to provide clear guidelines for suppliers, staff, and management.
  • Managing all company leases and insurances, liaising with brokers for general inquiries and renewals.
  • Establishing and reporting on sustainability processes to meet statutory and company/group reporting requirements. Align with our company strategy, including CO2 reporting and ensuring supplier compliance with sustainability standards.

Job requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (preferred but not essential).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Specialised knowledge in contracts, pricing, business case writing, and sustainability.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and competency in other Microsoft applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience working under strict deadlines.
  • Background in project management, exceptional negotiation skills, and sustainability management.
