GAC North America - Logistics is looking for candidates for the role of Imports Coordinator, to be based in Houston, Texas. Could it be you?
Job Description
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, overseas agent, associates, internal or inter-department to arrange the execution of shipment(s).
- Check the documents are in order and correct, approved quotation in place, follow the procedure as per the relevant SOPs.
- Closely follow up to ensure shipments are executed as per schedule and keep all stakeholders updated.
- Manage customer expectations through SOPs, KPIs, and other account specific metrics
- Assure any additional charge / cost other than agreed quotation / tariff are well communicated to the customer and obtain confirmation in advance.
- Maintain shipment system data and document integrity for clients’ web tracking purposes.
- Dispatch freight once Customs cleared – assure the claims are monitored, communicated, and settled on time.
- Track and trace shipments from departure to arrival, alerting clients accordingly.
- Respond to orders, general customer inquiries, invoice questions and customer complaints.
- Ensure operationally closed job files are promptly passed for Invoicing. Assure accuracy of registration/recharge.
- Adhere to company policies on HSSE, Compliance, etc.
Job requirements
Job Requirement
- Graduate, University degree. OR related work experience
- 2-3 years experiences in a similar industry or exposure in related industry
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think and respond quickly to customer service issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint), internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
