About GAC Corporate Headquarters
GAC Corporate Headquarters is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and hosts our support functions from Legal and HR to Finance.  


GAC Corporate Headquarters is looking for candidates for the role of Compliance Officer to be based in Colombo, Sri Lanka while reporting to the Group Compliance Manager in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Could it be you?


Job Description

  • Liaise extensively with Group subsidiaries globally on compliance-related issues. 
  • Assist in the distribution of employee compliance training completion results to senior management. 
  • Assist in the creation and development of the compliance newsletter and the overall visibility of the compliance function within the Group. 
  • To assist with the implementation of the various elements of the Compliance and Ethics Programme. 
  • To assist with the implementation and adherence of/to good corporate governance standards and ethical principles in the facilitation of Group company objectives and Group business.  
  • Take an active role in spearheading projects which involve liaising with corporate service providers to achieve an end goal along with being involved in obtaining legal advice from lawyers in relation to seeking guidance on sanctions. 
  • Take an active role in risk mitigation efforts and detail any areas of concern to management. 
  • Maintenance of documentation by following an efficient filing system.
  • Be vocal in addressing problems and areas where efficiencies can be gained. Challenge existing processes and procedures.  
  • Assistance with the approval of corporate communications, including advertising and press releases.
  • Assistance with maintaining the compliance section of the GAC intranet to ensure the correct information is consistently updated.
  • Assisting in maintaining GDPR documentation and ensure ongoing GDPR compliance.


Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Knowledge of global sanctions and GDPR
  • Some experience within a legal, compliance or risk related role would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office package skills and general IT competence for use with specialist software.  
  • A compliance qualification/certification would be a benefit.
