Job description

The successful candidate will develop more logistics business by hunting for new clients, with focus (minimum 75%) on Marine Logistics, but also able to sell other GAC Singapore Logistics products.

As a member of the Logistics sales team, they will contribute to the success of the team and GAC Logistics.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop new customers and create/increase gross profit.
  • Perform telemarketing and visit both potential and existing customers to increase sales and built rapport for customer retention. Arrange local sales campaigns for visiting overseas partners/ agents.
  • Oversee and be involved in Commercial strategies, their implementation and related activities.
  • Focus on business development and pro-actively seek out new business opportunities whilst identifying opportunities for growth within existing businesses.
  • Participate in bids, RFQs and commercial activities. Prepare, submit and follow up on quotations.
  • Attend networking events and build industry connections with the objective of business growth.
  • Assess and conduct feasibility studies of new and existing businesses.
  • Effectively handle customer complaints and feedback to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Balance the need for compliance to local and government policies with the need to effectively resolve disputes.
  • Ensure good cash management, including effective monitoring and control of department expenses, partner effectively with the Credit Control team to ensure credits are effectively managed.
  • Conduct market research to assess and evaluate current market and industry trends to develop new customers and create gross profits.

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an equivalent role.
  • Good working knowledge of Singapore ports and maritime regulations.
  • Commercial acumen and drive to develop new businesses.
  • Effective communication and people management skills.
